What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable gels that plump your skin in the places where you need volume. There is a large variety of dermal fillers today, but the most popular are those with synthetic hyaluronic acid. Because your body already produces hyaluronic acid naturally, synthetic hyaluronic acid integrates seamlessly to give you an incredibly natural look and feel.
What kind of dermal filler do I need?
Skin Scripts exclusively uses the country’s leading line of hyaluronic acid fillers, Juvéderm. There are Juvéderm fillers formulated especially for each area where you might need fillers, including:
Juvéderm Volbella®
Juvéderm Volbella treats lip lines, like the small vertical lines called smoker’s lines. It also gives subtle volume in and around your lips.
Juvéderm Ultra XC
Juvéderm Ultra XC treats lips and the around-the-lip area. It adds a more pronounced volume than Volbella, so it’s ideal if lip volume is your primary goal.
Juvéderm XC® and Juvéderm Vollure™ XC
Juvéderm XC and Juvéderm Vollure XC both treat nasolabial folds, and can also help with marionette lines drooping at the corners of your mouth.
Juvéderm Voluma® XC
Juvéderm Voluma treats the mid-face. It volumizes your cheeks and can give a lifting effect to your middle and lower face.
After discussing your concerns, your Skin Scripts provider can recommend the formula or combination of formulas that are right for your aesthetic needs. They may also recommend combining fillers with Botox® to address lines around your eyes or across your forehead.
When do dermal fillers take effect?
The Juvéderm line of dermal fillers takes effect instantly, so you’ll get to see the results before you leave the office. Hyaluronic acid binds to water, so staying well hydrated is the best way to ensure optimal results, right away.
Does Juvéderm treatment require recovery time?
No. It’s usually a quick and easy treatment of less than half-an-hour, and you can resume your normal routine immediately afterward. You might experience some swelling, redness, and bruising in the injection areas, but this normally gets better in a few days. If desired, you can gently apply cosmetics to conceal these problems.
How long do dermal fillers last?
The Juvéderm line of fillers can last for one to two years, depending on the exact formula and placement location in your face. Your Skin Scripts care provider can give you an idea of what to expect in terms of dermal filler life-span.
