What are spider veins?
Spider veins are blue, purple, or red veins that often look like tiny threads, webs, or branches below your skin. Unlike varicose veins, spider veins aren’t bumpy and don’t protrude from your skin. Why do I have spider veins?
Spider veins appear when blood collects in a vein and doesn’t move freely as it should. This generally happens because the one-way valve on the vein fails to close properly.
Several factors can increase your risk of developing spider veins, including genetics, extra weight, pregnancy, and sitting or standing for extended periods every day.
What is available for spider vein removal on the legs?
Asclera treatment is ideal for spider vein removal on leg veins. How does the spider vein removal process work?
Using a very slim needle, your treatment provider at Skin Scripts makes a series of small injections to treat spider veins. The Asclera solution irritates your vein walls, which causes clotting to make your vein close off. Then, over time, your veins fade as healthy tissue develops.
When will I see results after Asclera spider vein removal?
Most patients notice results as soon as two or three days after spider vein removal treatment, and five to seven days after varicose vein treatment. To get results as soon as possible, be sure to follow all post-treatment instructions from your Skin Scripts care provider.
What should I do after my Asclera treatment?
Most patients wear a compression garment or bandage on their legs after Asclera treatment. Walking for at least 15-20 minutes following treatment, and then daily for at least several days, is usually encouraged after treatment, as well.
Your Skin Scripts specialist instructs you about what to avoid for the first few days after Asclera treatment, which usually includes sun exposure, hot baths, strenuous exercise, and extended air travel.
